Viking CaveViking Cave is one of the most notable natural sites on Koh Phi Phi Leh.
Locally called Tham Phaya Nak, Viking Cave owes its name to the paintings found on the eastern and southern walls of the cave they represent various types of boats, including what resembles a Scandinavian Drakkar (Viking ship). These paintings were possibly made
Pileh CovePi Leh Bay is one of the most impressive sites on Koh Phi Phi Leh. Also known as Ao Pileh, Pileh Lagoon, Pileh Cove or Pi Ley Cove, it is like a canyon, almost cutting Koh Phi Phi Leh in 2. Located on the eastern side of the island, a few hundred metres south of Viking Cave.
The best time to photograph the outstanding beauty of its emerald green water. At some spots around Pi Leh Bay, it seems that the water is lit from the seabed, making it a spectacular sight to see. The western side of Pi Leh Bay features a few small beaches at the foot of the cliff, but most of the boats stay in the centre of the lagoon while their guests go swimming and snorkeling.
Loh Samah BayLoh Sama (Sama Bay) is one of the most famous sites of Koh Phi Phi Leh. At the southern tip, the bay has a small islet in the centre, along with a tiny beach at the back of a small canyon on its northern part.
Loh Sama is reputed for its snorkeling and diving opportunities. A limestone cliff separates it from the famous Maya Bay, with a small hole allowing passage at low tide. A wooden staircase and terrace can be found built on the side facing Maya Bay, offering you a nice view of Loh Sama and the islet.
Maya BayMaya Bay is a stunningly beautiful bay that's sheltered by 100-metre-high cliffs on 3 sides. You can enjoy several beaches here. Most are small and some only exist at low tide. The main beach is around 200 metres long with silky soft white sand. The whole bay is one big reef and the underwater scene features colorful coral and exotic fish in exceptionally clear water.
Maya Bay became a top attraction on Phi Phi after The Beach (1999) was shot here. It was always very popular before the film but ever since the film came out, people around the world who haven't even heard of Phi Phi have certainly heard of Maya Bay
